Lift Operator

A Lift Operator is a facility service professional responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous operation of passenger and service elevators within residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. The Lift Operator plays an important role in ensuring the safe movement of passengers and goods while maintaining elevator discipline, monitoring lift operations, and providing prompt assistance during emergencies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Operate passenger and service lifts safely and efficiently in accordance with building procedures.

·         Assist residents, employees, visitors, and guests with the proper use of elevators.

·         Monitor lift operations continuously and ensure smooth and uninterrupted service.

·         Prevent overloading of elevators by ensuring passenger and weight limits are observed.

·         Maintain cleanliness and neatness inside lift cabins, lift lobbies, and surrounding areas.

·         Report any lift malfunction, unusual noise, or technical defect immediately to the supervisor or maintenance team.

·         Respond calmly and promptly to lift emergencies, including assisting trapped passengers and notifying the appropriate authorities.

·         Coordinate with maintenance technicians during inspection, servicing, and repair work.

·         Ensure that emergency communication systems, lighting, and safety features of the lift remain functional and report deficiencies promptly.

·         Maintain daily operational records, incident reports, and maintenance logs as required.

·         Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures established by the client and applicable regulations.

·         Maintain a professional appearance, discipline, honesty, punctuality, and courteous behavior at all times.

·         Perform any other duties assigned by management or the client representative.
